Printing from your wireless laptop to Uni High's Windows Lab B&W Printer or Mac Lab B&W printer.
Similar in 10.3 and 10.5, but you may have to look a bit for the proper menus.
Set up VPN (See CITES VPN page). This only needs to be done once.
To set up the printers, to connect to Goddard, or to print you will need to connect via the VPN. This is an alternative to Quick Connect. See CITES VPN page for directions.
Hopefully you will only need to do this once. You will need to be connected via the VPN to do this.
From the Apple Menu, select "System Preferences" then "Print & Fax".
Click on the "+" symbol in the lower left corner to add a new printer.
For the Windows Lab:

The next page will ask about options. Just click "Continue". You will now see the printer you just added in your printer listing.
Connect via the VPN and you can now print. Enjoy!

Go to Start->Control Panel.
If you see "Printers and Faxes" select it, then "add a printer" from the left side.
If you see "Printers and Other Hardware" select it, then "add a printer."
In the Add Printer Wizard, click "Next" to pass the first page, then select "A network printer".
Select "Connect to this printer ......."
For the Windows Lab, enter \\uh-goddard\room_314
For the Mac lab, enter \\uh-goddard\Room_113
It may then ask you for a username and password. The username is "uiuc\netid" (so, Ms. Booth's would uiuc\ervin). If you do not include the "uiuc\" at the begining it will not work. The password is the same as you use to log into the lab.
It may ask you for permission to install a printer driver--go ahead and do so.
Connect via the VPN and you can now print. It may ask you for your username/password the first time you print each session. Just remember to put uiuc\ at the start. Enjoy!
